Rochdale Exchange
The Rochdale Exchange is the biggest shopping centre is Rochdale town centre. The largest stores here are Whitakers, Boots, and B&M. Others include WHSmith, Superdrug, Claire’s, River Island, Holland & Barrett, H Samuel, Warren James, Carphone Warehouse, T Mobile, O2, Game, Gamestation, HMV, First Choice, and Thomas Cook.
The shopping centre is open 7 days a week. Standard opening hours are Monday to Saturday 9 am to 5.30 pm, and Sunday 10.30 am to 4.30 pm.
The centre is also home to 2 markets; the Covered Market and the Market Hall. There are stalls selling clothes, lingerie, handbags and luggage, greeting cards, electronics, household goods, jewellery, shoes, beauty products, and fruit and vegetables, and offering services such as shoe repairs, key cutting, watch repairs, and engraving.
Opening times for the markets are Monday to Saturday 8 am to 5 pm. The Market Hall is closed on Tuesdays.
Facilities at the Royal Exchange include toilets and a baby changing area, a cash machine, photo booth, and several places to eat and drink.
The Royal Exchange is located to the western side of Rochdale town centre. To reach it by car leave the M62 motorway at Junction 20 and take the A627 (M) to Rochdale. At the end of the A627 (M) turn left onto the A664 (Edinburgh Way), passing Sandbrook Park on the right, and then run right onto the A58 (Manchester Road). After driving for 1 mile the Royal Exchange can be seen on the right (large red brick building). Drive past it and then take the first right onto Hunter’s Lane. The centre’s multi-storey car park is here and offers spaces for over 800 vehicles. Free parking is available on Sundays and bank holidays.
