Waterstone's

With over 300 stores nationwide, Waterstone’s is the UK’s leading specialist book retailer. It was founded in 1982 by Tim Waterstone, ironically after he had been sacked by WHSmith, and enjoys a great reputation for its extensive range of titles and knowledgeable staff.

Stores hold regular events such as book signings and launches, talks, and children’s days. Branches of Waterstone’s can be found throughout the North West. Locations include Barrow (Portland Walk), Blackpool (Houndshill Centre), Bolton, Bury (Mill Gate Shopping Centre), Carlisle, Chester, Kendal (Westmorland Shopping Centre), Lancaster (Marketgate), Liverpool, Manchester (Airport, Arndale Centre, Deansgate, and the Trafford Centre), Oldham (Spindles), Preston (Mall), Southport (Lord Street), Stockport (Merseyway), Warrington (Golden Square), and Wigan (Grand Arcade).
