Manchester Academy is the collective name used for the four concert venues at the University of Manchester Students’ Union. The 4 venues are Manchester Academy 1, 2, 3 and Club Academy.
Academy 1 is the main venue and is situated in its own building on Oxford Road, next to the Students’ Union. It has a capacity of 2300, though this is much smaller than other music venues in the city (Manchester Apollo – 3500 standing & Manchester Arena – 21,000).
Academy 2, 3 and Club Academy are located in the Students’ Union building itself. Academy 2 is on the second floor, Academy 3 is on the third floor, and Club Academy is in the basement.

Tickets can be purchased from the box office, located on the ground floor of the Students’ Union (telephone 0161 275 2930) or online from Ticketmaster or See Tickets.

Shows finish at 11 pm Mon to Sat and 10.30 pm Sunday unless otherwise stated. Doors usually open at 7 or 7.30 pm.

Car
Visitors with satellite navigation systems should use the postcode M13 9PR to find Manchester Academy.
The nearest car park to all venues is right next to Manchester Academy 1, between Dilworth Street and Devas Street. It should be noted that only permit holders are allowed to use this car park Monday to Friday during the day. Visitors can use the car park 4 pm to midnight Monday to Friday, and all day Saturday and Sunday. The parking fee is £2 at all times.
Bus
Go to Piccadilly Gardens and catch one of the buses going to the University of Manchester (15, 16, 41, 42, 42A, 43, 44, 48, 111, 130, 142, 143, 157, 251, X57).
Train
The closest train station is Manchester Oxford Road. To reach the Manchester Academy from here, exit the station and turn right onto Oxford Road and walk for ¾ mile or catch one of the many buses heading south along Oxford Road.
From Piccadilly train station catch bus number 147 (Piccadilly – Oxford Road Circular). The journey takes around 10 minutes.
From Victoria train station catch the Metrolink to Piccadilly Gardens and then catch one of the many buses heading along Oxford Road (15, 16, 41, 42, 42A, 43, 44, 48, 111, 130, 142, 143, 157, 251, X57).
