Vernon Park
Vernon Park opened in 1858 and is Stockport’s oldest park. Built on land donated to the council by Lord Vernon, it was built by poor mill workers and is often referred to as Pinch Belly Park.
Covering 21 acres this Victorian park features a bandstand, bowling greens, water features, a fernery, sunken rose garden, herbaceous borders, rockery and numerous other historical plant collections. Stockport Museum is also here and boasts a tea room with fantastic views of the park.
Facilities at the park include a car park and public toilets with baby changing facilities and disabled access.
