Parbold

Parbold is a picturesque village in West Lancashire, around 7 miles northwest of Wigan. It has a population of around 3,000 and is surrounded by countryside.

The village is dominated by Parbold Hill. Here you’ll find the Parbold Bottle, a stone monument built to commemorate the passing of the Reform Act in 1832.

The Leeds-Liverpool Canal passes close to the village centre, although its most noticeable landmark is a late 18th century windmill that is now the gallery of local artist James Bartholomew.

I moved to Parbold recently and it's the best move we ever made, The village is very pretty and the walk along the canal is fantastic. The ducks all know me now and get out of the water when I appear. They follow me and my dog when we are walking. So please watch out for my ducks especially whitey (white duck). The village itself is very pleasant and the villagers are very friendly. Enjoy our village and don't make a mess as we are very proud of the place.
