The Elephant Yard shopping centre in Kendal opened in 1999 on the site of the old Elephant Inn.
It houses a mixture of high street stores and local independents. The Kendal branch of the NatWest bank, a Costa coffee shop, and Kendal Library are also here.
Elephant Yard is located on Stricklandgate in Kendal town centre. There’s a pay-and-display car park right next to Elephant Yard on Library Road. It’s operated by South Lakeland District Council and has parking spaces for around 50 vehicles. Other car parks nearby include the large multi-storey at the Westmorland Shopping Centre.
