  1. Growing problem with parking attendants issuing tickets to actual blue badge holders inappropriately and company threatening large fines, despite appeals very bullying attitudes, my friends all visually impaired some physically disabled too scared to park there any more, Retail park should review their contract with this company and seek out a more reputable company who treats people in a more dignified way,

  2. I parked my car and I received a parking violation notice in the post. My 2 front wheels went over the white lines of the bay and I was fined £60 for this. I was not aware of any parking company operating in the retail park. Surely the public have a right too know this practice is going on and signs should be visible. If the management read this hopefully we will get some explaination from them.

  3. Good morning everyone. My wife and I are going to have a look round Speke today. Regarding Liverpool one shopping centre. I don’t think it should be judged purely on car park fees alone. It is a wonderful 42 acre site, with an international array of shops, cafés, restaurants, and boutiques. Right at the heart of it a massive 4d 14 screen cinema. Oh yes don’t forget its wonderful park, and ice rink which is there until January, and Santa is coming next week.
I think if you look at the pros and cons of it, Speke is left in the shade. You can’t park in Speke for 24 hours, only during the day. Anyway, that said we will give it a go. Anyone been to Ikea at Warrington? Now there’s a place.

  4. Chacha is right – mother /child places often abused. So are Blue Badge spaces – so I was pleased to see parking ticket on an illegally parked car in disabled space. Supermarkets should also be more vigilant.

  5. A great shopping centre. My only complaint – it’s too popular! Parking is dififficult at weekends and December.
As a Blue Badge user I was pleased to see a parking ticket on a vehicle with no Blue Badge.
Understand Chacha problem – see lots of cars parking in all supermarkets and no kids come out. Usually women – thought this would be men but usually a group of women.
I think retail parks and supermarkets should accept that vehicles are bigger and increase width of individual parking spaces. I only drive a Scenic but it has has been well battered in Supermarkets – not at Speke (yet).

  6. Nowhere near enough Mum & baby spaces – they are always full & have had people park so I can’t get baby back in to car in carseat on a few occasions.

  8. Wherever you go there is always a chance of damage to vehicles. Everywhere in the world you will find some degenerates of society. It’s a good shopping area, especially if you are early for your flight.

  9. Love shopping at Speke retail park. No parking fees and the selection of shops is excellent; Wallis, M&S food etc. Why go anywhere else? It beats L1.

  10. I shop there all the time. It’s so much easier to park and shop here with 3 children in tow. I highly recommend the shops, staff AND car park. Parking is free, lots of places to eat, shop and browse.

  11. How can you accuse Graeme of over- reacting? The poor man had his car damaged and had to foot the bill himself. l had the same thing a few years ago at Sainsbury’s in Salford. Was only in the store a few minutes and my car was parked by their cafe, But of course nobody sees anything.

  13. We went last Saturday and mistakenly left the sat nav in the window. 2 hours later got back to car and all was ok. Will definitely go again. No more 11 pound parking fees in Liverpool 1. Shops are fantastic too.

    • £11 is extortionate! Mount pleasant car park is only £4 all day.

  14. Completely agree. I go to Speke often a few times a week. The parking is free and close to all the shops, much better than Liverpool city centre. I’ve never had a problem parking my car there, and they do have security men watching the car park.

  15. I think Graeme is over reacting. I’ve parked there hundreds of times and never had a problem. What happened to Graeme could happen to anyone in any car park or street in the world!
