Deansgate is a major road in Manchester city centre. It runs north to south through the western side of the city and is roughly ¾ mile long.
The road is home to many shops, bars and restaurants including the House of Fraser (Kendals), Waterstone’s, and the Moon Under Water.
Spinningfields is a new development to the west of Deansgate and is home to many new office buildings, restaurants, and luxury apartments. The John Rylands Library, People’s History Museum, and Manchester Opera House are also here.
Further south is the Great Northern, an entertainment complex in a converted railway warehouse, and Manchester’s tallest building, the Beetham Tower.
Deansgate train station and Deansgate-Castlefield Metrolink station lie at the southern end of Deansgate. Victoria train and Metrolink station is just ¼ mile from its northern end.
