Blackpool Opera House

With a seating capacity of almost 3,000, Blackpool Opera House is the largest theatre in England. Throughout the year it hosts numerous West End musicals, comedy acts, music concerts and variety shows.

Shows scheduled for 2011 include Roy Chubby Brown, Michael Ball, The Mighty Wurlitzer Organ Concert, Jimmy Carr, Calendar Girls, Paddy McGuinness, Grease, Engelbert Humperdinck, and Imelda May.

Location & Parking

Blackpool Opera House is situated at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool town centre.   The closest parking is the multi-storey car park at the Houndshill Shopping Centre.

Further Information

In 2010 Blackpool Council purchased the Winter Gardens complex from Leisure Parcs. Work on restoring it to its former glory commenced later that year.

In 2009 the theatre hosted the Royal Variety Performance for the second time in its history. Acts included Lady Gaga, Diversity, Jason Manford, and the cast of Here Come the Girls.
