The old railway arches on Whitworth Street West are now the home of several bars and entertainment venues. Known as Deansgate Locks, it is one of the most popular areas of Manchester city centre for a night out.

Deansgate Locks is located in the Petersfield area of Manchester. It’s a good drinking and entertainment spot for those visiting Manchester Central, the Bridgewater Hall, HOME, or the Great Northern.
The Rochdale Canal runs in front of Deansgate Locks. It joins the Bridgewater Canal in Castlefield. The former home of the famous Hacienda nightclub (now apartments) lies to the east.
Platzki (0.1 miles) - Modern Polish restaurant in the Great Northern Building. Menu changes frequently. Close to Manchester Central and the Bridgewater Hall.
Fazenda (0.4 miles) - Brazilian steakhouse at Spinningfields. Skewers of meat are brought to your table. Close to the John Rylands Library, Manchester Opera House, Great Northern, and the People’s History Museum.
