The Northwich Salt Museum was established more than 100 years ago explores the town’s connections with salt production. It is housed in the former Northwich Workhouse on the London Road (A533), around half a mile south of the town centre (ironically its original location was abandoned due to subsidence caused by salt mining).
Various galleries explore topics such as salt production and mining, the practical uses of salt, and the River Weaver.
Facilities here include a gift shop, coffee shop and free car park.
