Sandcastle Waterpark

Let’s face it, Blackpool’s weather can sometimes, shall we say, leave a little to be desired. At the Sandcastle Waterpark, however, the temperature is a constant, sub-tropical 84°F.

Blackpool’s indoor water park is the biggest of its kind in the UK. It features numerous attractions and rides including:

  • Masterblaster – the world’s longest indoor rollercoaster waterslide
  • Sidewinder – vertical drop raft ride
  • HMS Thundersplash – water jets and cannons
  • Caribbean Storm Treehouse – water cannons, jets and blasters
  • Ushi-Gushi River Creek – lazy river ride
  • Treetops Water Chutes  – family-friendly slides
  • Duelling Dragons – Two 25m water chutes – great for racing with a friend

Two new slides are set to open in summer 2011; Montazooma and Aztec Falls.

Facilities here include a several restaurants and bars, swimming and gift shops, video arcade, bars, baby changing area, cash machine, plus male, female and family changing rooms (all with lockers).

Reviews and Additional Information

  1. It’s fun and I love the saunas. Go there!

  2. Absolutely brilliant. The blonde woman who works there was very nice but don’t know her name.

  3. I loved this place. It was great value for money and the changing rooms were also spacious.

  4. I went last summer and it was great. I soaked some guy with a water cannon.

  5. I love it here. It’s so awesome and I’m going again soon.

  6. Sandcastle Blackpool is a great tourist attraction and offers a great range of fun and activities suitable for all ages. They have great slides, very friendly staff and charge a reasonable admission price unlike some places. Believe me when I say this, Sandcastle Blackpool is worth every penny!

  7. It’s a good place. The MasterBlaster rules!

  8. I loved waterworld and I can not wait to go again. It was fab!

  9. I went quite a bit ago and it was awesome. I went on the world’s biggest water slide and I loved it.

  10. I went today and it was really good and worth going to.

  11. Sancastle in Blackpool is a very good place to go to. There are many different slides and cool pools.

  12. I took my three children. It was good but there were a lot of teenagers swearing and messing about, and the changing rooms were tiny.

  13. 85 degrees is a blatant lie. I went today and it was freezing. Perhaps this is a new tactic to get you out quicker so that the tiny changing rooms aren’t overfilled at closing time. Plus it should really be called the chavcastle. Full of postured, beer bellied skinheads with rubbish, cheap tattoos, and poorly applied fake tan for the girls. The rides are ok, but not worth enduring the temperature.

  14. I went to the sandcastle a week ago with my friends and we had a great time on all the slides and the sidewinder which is mint but the highlight was that I saw Bobby Ball of I’m a Celebrity and he waved at me. I can not wait to go again.

  15. I have been to Blackpool water park before and now I am just getting ready to go there today. Last time I went I loved it and so did my friend. I am really looking forward to it.

  16. I went to Waterworld and it was the best water park i have ever been to.

  17. Thanks for your review Rachel. I’m sure our readers will be glad to know that the lifeguards are ‘fit’.

  18. It was amazing and the life guards were so fit! 🙁 I really should have got that guy’s number! They were all looking at me! The slides are amazing.

  19. I went to the sandcastle in Blackpool last Sunday and it was fantastic.
