Burnley Manchester Road is one of three train stations in Burnley town centre.
It offers direct services to destinations such as Accrington, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Preston, Rochdale, and York.
The station originally opened in 1866 but closed to passenger traffic in 1961. It reopened in 1986 and was improved in 2014 with the opening of a new station building.
2015 saw the reopening of the Todmorden Curve and direct services to Manchester.
Facilities at the station include a booking office, shelters, cycle racks, ticket machines, and electronic screens. There’s also a reasonably large car park and drop-off area.
The station is situated on Manchester Road, to the south-west of the town centre.
Hollywood Park, home to Reel Cinema, is just across the road. Burnley Mechanics and Burnley Town Hall are also nearby.
