The station is on the Ribble Valley Line.
Station Information and Facilities
The station has two platforms:
- Platform 1 – Trains to Blackburn, Bolton, Manchester, and Rochdale
- Platform 2 – Trains to Clitheroe
Ramsgreave and Wilpshire is an unstaffed station with no ticket office. Customers can buy train tickets from the ticket machine. There are shelters and seating on both platforms. Other facilities include CCTV and customer help points.
There is no toilet, shop, or cafe at the station itself. However, there’s a Co-Op supermarket next to the station. The Rising Sun pub is also nearby.
The station has limited accessibility. There are steps to both platforms.
The platforms have tactile paving, and the car park features an accessible parking space.
The original Wilpshire for Ribchester Station opened in 1850. It was located 1/4 mile south of the current station. It closed in 1962.
The current station opened in 1994.
Ramsgreave and Wilpshire Station – Address, Onward Travel
The station is located on Ramsgreave Road in Blackburn. The station does not have its own postcode. However, you can use the postcode of the adjacent Co-Op store (BB1 9PH) to find it using satellite navigation.
There’s a small car park at the station. Parking is free for rail passengers. There are a couple of cycle hoops in the car park.
There’s a bus stop on Whalley Road, near the station. Bus services stopping here include:
- 22 – Clitheroe to Blackburn. Stops on the route include Whalley, Langho, and Wilpshire.
- 45 – Preston to Blackburn. Stops on the route include Broughton, Goosnargh, Longridge, Salesbury, and Wilpshire.
Adjacent stations on the Ribble Valley Line are Langho and Blackburn.
