Salford Central is a train station in Salford, Greater Manchester. It lies on the Manchester to Preston Line, the Ribble Valley Line, the Manchester to Southport Line, and the Manchester to Kirkby Line.
The station has a ticket office but few other facilities. There are a couple of convenience stores opposite the station entrance.
Salford Central Train Station is situated on New Bailey Street in Salford (postcode M3 5ET). There’s no official station car park here, but there are several private car parks in the immediate vicinity. The NCP Bridge Street Car Park is approximately 300 yards from the station.
Manchester city centre is just a short walk away. Salford Central is the closest train station to the Spinningfields area of the city and is convenient for those travelling to the People’s History Museum, Opera House Manchester, and the John Rylands Library.
Many buses stop near the station entrance. Notable services include the 50 service from Didsbury to Salford Quays and the 100 service from Warrington to Manchester (via the Trafford Centre).
Metroshuttle buses also stop outside the station and offer free rides to destinations throughout Manchester city centre.
