Warrington Central is the busiest of the two train stations in Warrington. It is situated on Winwick Street in the town centre, close to the Golden Square Shopping Centre, Cockhedge Shopping Park, and the Halliwell Jones Stadium (the home of Warrington Wolves). The other station in the town is Warrington Bank Quay.
Trains passing through Warrington Central include services between Liverpool Lime Street and Scarborough (via Manchester Piccadilly), Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Oxford Road (via Widnes), and Norwich and Liverpool Lime Street (via Stockport, Manchester Piccadilly and Widnes).
There’s a taxi rank and car park outside the station entrance. Warrington Bus Interchange is just a short walk from the station. Buses leave here for most areas of the town plus destinations such as Runcorn, Liverpool, St Helens, Widnes, and Wigan.
At the time of writing (December 2014) the Centrelink bus travels in a circular route between the town centre, Warrington Central, Warrington Bank Quay, and Centre Park. The service runs every 20 minutes Monday to Friday and costs just 20 pence.
