Based in the Grizedale Forest, Go Ape is a military-style assault course that takes visitors through the forest via a network of swings, rope bridges, platforms and slides.
After a brief training session, participants complete the course at their own pace. They are attached to a safety line at all times.
Tree Top Trek have an exciting array of low and high ropes challenges that are suitable for those aged five and up. In addition, they also have a Tree Top Nets course that is suitable for those aged 3 and up. The courses are located at Brockhole, the Lake District Visitor Centre, where you will also find a whole host of other activities available..
I did Dalby yesterday and it was excellent. The zip wires are worth it on their own.
I went to Grizedale at Easter 2008. It was good, but Dalby Forest was better. The zip lines were longer and it seemed more of a challenge there. It’s still worth going though.
I went to the one in the lakes. Never done it before and I have never been so god damn scared in my life before! Don’t go on a windy day! I faced my fear of heights though and the feeling of achievement I experienced was so immense. It is also an excellent way to build up team skills. The girls were the best, would never have done it without them!
Been on the go ape at Dalby Forest, loved every minute, going to the Lake District next Easter to go on this one, can’t wait, will be more of a challenge I hope!! well worth the money.
This is a great way to spend 3 hours. I completely lost my fear of heights, despite the fact that you have to complete the course on your own.
