This small station is one of two serving the Westhoughton area of Bolton (the other is Daisy Hill Train Station).
In recent years, the Friends of Westhoughton Station has transformed it into one of the most attractive train stations in North West England. The volunteer group has cleared away rubbish, planted flower beds, and installed ornaments, statues and artwork. It’s well worth visiting to see the improvements that have been made.
Services from this station include trains to Stalybridge, Southport, Manchester Oxford Road, Wigan Wallgate, and Wigan North Western.
