Empire Cinemas Wigan is situated at Robin Park, a retail and leisure park just outside Wigan town centre.
The cinema features 11 screens and offers a good choice of movies to suit all age groups and tastes. The largest theatre can accommodate 556 customers while the smallest seats 130. All feature Dolby Digital sound and offer disabled access.
Empire Cinemas is open every day of the week. Discounted ticket prices are available for movies starting Monday to Thursday before 5 pm (excluding bank holidays). Discounts are available at all times for students in possession of valid student ID, children (aged 2 -14), and seniors. Family tickets (2 adults and 2 children, or 1 adult and 3 children) admit adults at child prices.
The cinema is situated on Anjou Boulevard, at the northern end of Robin Park. Restaurants and places to eat and drink in the immediate vicinity of the cinema are Frankie & Benny’s, Pizza Hut, Nutri-Licious and the Red Robin (a Green King family pub).

The cinema opened in 1998 as the Virgin Cinema Wigan. The opening ceremony was attended by Richard Branson himself. It was later sold to UGC and then Cineworld.
